Interview Guide

This tool helps marktguru identify recurring tasks that are worth automating. You capture processes by quick-tracking them and then refining them — the AI interviews you to fill in the details.

Quick track

Quick-tracking takes seconds. Use it to capture a process before you forget it — you can fill in the details later.

  1. Write a short title or name for the process.
  2. Decide whether this is your own process or someone else's. If it belongs to a colleague, search for their name.

The process is now listed in the table below and is waiting for refinement. Nothing else is required at this stage.

Refining a process

Once a process is quick-tracked, click Edit on it in the table to open the refinement view. Fill out the fields in the left-hand panel, then start the interview.

Step 1 — Fill out the left-hand panel

Field What it means
Name A short label for the process and what it involves.
Description Use this heavily — this is where the process lives. The more detail here, the better the interview.
Sources Upload any relevant documents (e.g. templates, screenshots, SOPs). They are used for this session only and not stored.
Involved departments Which departments besides yours touch this process.
Contact person Who are the contact persons from the other departments.
Pain scale How painful is this process right now?
Impact How much would it matter if this process were automated?
Hours Time spent on this process per month.

Step 2 — Start the interview

Click Start Interview at the bottom of the left-hand panel. The chat opens in the centre and already knows:

  • Everything you entered in the left-hand panel
  • The company context
  • Your department's context

The AI interviewer will then grill you on this specific process.

Step 3 — Get the suggestion

When you feel you've answered enough, click the Suggestion button. The full chat and context are sent to the suggestion tool, which — using knowledge of marktguru's tool stack — produces an automation recommendation report below the chat window.

Step 4 — Answer follow-up questions

There will always be open questions. You'll find them at the bottom of the suggestion area. Answer them inline and submit — your answers are added to the chat and the suggestion reruns automatically.

Step 5 — Export

When you're done, click Export at the top of the suggestion area. A PDF is generated and uploaded directly to the process board in monday.com.

Deep Dive interview

Deep Dive

A free-form exploration — not for tracking

The Deep Dive is for having a detailed conversation about your work without needing a process already set up. Use the green button at the bottom of the dashboard to start one.

The AI will have access to:

  • The company context
  • Your department's context
  • Any processes you have already created and set up

It will then grill you in detail about how you work.

If a process surfaces during the Deep Dive that you hadn't tracked before — quick-track it. Don't try to capture everything through the Deep Dive alone; use it to discover, then track separately.

Disclaimer

The interviewer will not stop on its own. You decide when everything has been answered. Close or navigate away when you're done.
Suggestions are a solid starting point, not a final answer. Always review the automation recommendation in detail before acting on it.
Your interview transcripts are automatically saved to the monday.com board — but the files you upload during a session are not permanently stored.
